This is my 6th year in 4H. Over those years, I have done a sheep project, creative options, foods, and beef. The reason I chose a steer project this year is because I like the challenge of halter training him. It can be difficult sometimes but it is always nice to see how far my project has come when Achievement Day rolls around. Unlike previous years, my steer this year was quite calm right from the beginning. It wasn't long before I was able to pet him and start brushing. He loves to lick my jeans and to be scratched and is very friendly.
I was the secretary for our club both this year and last year. I like holding that position because I enjoy helping out our club.
My favourite part about Achievement Day is showing my project, and seeing what everyone else has been working on throughout the year. Although I am disappointed that there is no Achievement Day this year, I still had a great time working with my steer. Thank you to everyone who has supported 4-h over the years!
